It started in the beginning of last century with new inventions and engineering that gave the opportunity for entrepreneurs to mass produce shoes for the people. The idea was to manufacture shoes so cheap that everyone could afford a pair. For decades the business was blooming but the demand for cheaper products forced the plants to adapt to new market rules. The plants where doomed.
Many years later a journey to east europe resulted in finding a treasure of old machinery and molds that where long forgotten. Spalwart was born. The Spalwart shoes are manufactured in the same plant, with the same moulds and machinery since the 1950’s. Therefore these shoes have a non perfect but characteristic beauty.
The Spalwart Marathon Trail low has an aggressive outsole as good for trails as for concrete. The shoes upper comes in a variety of functional fabrics such as quick drying and airbag materials. The Marathon Trail are manufactured with the same moulds and machinery as the original 1970’s shoes.
